The SiT International Bootcamp

The SiT International Bootcamp was a key milestone in the Sustainability in TCLF (Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear) Erasmus+ project, (Sustainability in TCLF – Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear), which was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on May 26–27, 2026.

Hosted at the WEHub, the bootcamp was a hybrid, 10-hour intensive experience for university students, VET learners, and TCLF professionals. It served as a practical follow-up to our online training and national project-based learning activities, fostering transnational mobility and collaboration.

The program integrated innovation, entrepreneurship, and hands-on sustainability skills through the following core activities:

– The Hackathon: Multidisciplinary international teams collaborated to design green solutions for specific case studies, such as Circular Jersey Systems and Circular Hotel Textiles, and pitched their projects to a jury.
– Patchwork Workshop: Participants transformed discarded textiles and old garments into new products, guided by expert technicians.
– Networking & Speed-Dating: Structured sessions allowed students, trainers, and industry professionals from eight European countries to establish professional connections and facilitate peer-to-peer exchange.

Overall, the bootcamp successfully bridged the gap between education and the labor market by developing green competences, promoting international collaboration, and providing a platform to test innovative business ideas in a real-world context.
