SiT presented its work on green skills and sustainable transformation in the TCLF sector at the final MareSkill conference
On 10 September, the Šibenik University of Applied Sciences hosted the final conference of the MareSkill – Smart and Innovative Blue Skills for Competitive Blue Economy project, implemented within the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme.
The event also provided an opportunity to present SiT – Sustainability in TCLF, a project focused on supporting the green and sustainable transformation of the textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) sector through the development of new knowledge, skills and learning opportunities.
Connecting learning, sustainability and innovation
During the conference, SiT presented the work carried out by its partners throughout the project. The presentation highlighted the different tools and activities developed to support learners and professionals in responding to the changing needs of the TCLF sector.
Among these is the SiT digital platform, which brings together educational resources, training opportunities and examples of sustainable practices from across Europe. The platform also supports the development of new professional skills linked to the green transition, including those of the Bio-Textile Technician and Textile Recycling Manager.
The platform provides users with an opportunity not only to access learning content, but also to discover inspiring examples and connect with experiences from organisations working towards greater sustainability and circularity in the sector.
A project built around collaboration
The conference was also an opportunity to meet and reconnect with many of the people and organisations who contribute to the wider European network of partners and stakeholders.
Alongside local representatives and stakeholders, the event welcomed colleagues and partners from the University of Zadar, University of Rijeka, University of Zagreb, University of Trieste, Fondazione Fenice and Public Institution Natura, as well as many other project partners and colleagues.
These encounters highlighted one of the most important aspects of European cooperation projects: their value extends beyond the activities and outputs developed during their implementation. They create opportunities to exchange knowledge, establish connections and build relationships that can continue long after a project has officially ended.
Looking beyond project results
The MareSkill final conference offered an important moment to reflect on the work accomplished and on the connections created through European cooperation.
For SiT, it was also an opportunity to share the progress made towards a more sustainable TCLF sector and to showcase the learning resources, digital tools and good practices developed together by its partners.
Because projects are not only about results, platforms, training and reports. They are, above all, about people – the meetings, collaboration, trust and ideas that give projects meaning and allow their impact to continue beyond their official end.
